I have always, always been a camera girl. I went through many a disposable wind-up camera back in my day, and now with the iPhone camera always in my hand I’m always snapping photos throughout the day.

Diagon Alley! Colorful Fire Pinecones
Pardon me while I get my bearings. I’m suffering from weather whiplash. It’s been a bit quiet here on the blog lately because I’ve just returned from a nice vacation in sunny California! And now I’m watching the snow fall heavily outside my window.
As I am enjoying staying inside in our warm house, I thought the perfect way to bounce back into blogging would be to share one of our favorite winter things: colorful fires! I love a good fire and goodness knows we have enough firewood to keep them going.
Recipe for a Girls Weekend
One of my besties was in town this week. : )
We [temporarily] reverted rediscovered our young girlish ways (only best friends can bring about such behavior in another, you know) and my poor husband had to live with TWO crazy gals instead of the normally ONE crazy girl. He’s a good sport.
Cabinet Knobs – Oh the Choices!
I am currently in the middle of refinishing my first pieces of furniture – hardcore!
I have finished raw furniture and have repainted furniture, but I have never taken a piece and fully sanded it down before – until now.
I got an old dresser from my grandparents in the fall and it has been sitting in our sunroom waiting to be brought back to life. I’ll post about that whole process later, because right now I’m looking at knobs!
Elbow Pad Love
Adorable elbow pads from Honestlywtf – so cute!!
The elbow pad is in my future.
This winter I blew through sweaters. Emphasis on sweaters.
Measuring Cup Cabinet: Variations on a Pin
Ever since I joined Pinterest there is ONE idea I saw from here that I knew I needed to replicate. Now is the time!
I found this pin and I think it is genius!
Mason Jar Vase
Field Luuuv
How cute is this?
We were driving on some back roads on Saturday and drove by this field with a huge heart planted in it.
It was so sweet.
There were two red Adirondack chairs at the base of the hill looking up at it.
You will have to rely on my mental picture, because this was all I managed to snap as we drove by.
: )
Summer Nights
Today is the first day of summer. (Can I hear a collective YEAH BABY!!?)
Although today doesn’t hold as much ecstasy as it once did (is there really anything better than the feeling you got on the last day of school because you were starting summer break?), there is still plenty to look forward to. (Although I’d gladly welcome three months of popsicles, running outside and the pool club like the good ole days.)
The nights start getting shorter again starting today, and that’s okay because summer nights are a welcome sight.
While certain activities can commence throughout any seasons, in New England we really have to make the most of it and embrace the summer nights before they disappear again.
These are these nights for dinner parties with pretty strung-up lights.
These are these nights for campfires and smoky-wood-smelling conversations.
These are these nights for real s’mores.
These are these nights for turning off the television and stargazing.

Now if only I could get come fireflies out here. Then I’d be all set.
Summer, I deem thee welcome.
